
Texas Smash head coach Jorg Bitzigeio will miss this weekend’s Major League Table Tennis matches in Pleasantville, N.Y., league sources tell Table Tennis TV.
David McBeath will serve as the acting head coach for the Texas Smash for all three of his team’s Week 5 matches.
McBeath was the Smash’s acting coach for their Week 1 matches in Pleasanton, Calif. The Smash went 2-1 and earned 39 points in those three matches.
Bitzigeio led the Smash to an 11-7 record with 203 last season. They reached the Finals during Season 2 before falling to the Carolina Gold Rush.
In Season 1, Bitzigeio guided the Smash to a championship trophy with an 11-11 record and 227 points.
The Smash will play their first match of the weekend on Friday against the New York Slice at 7:30 p.m. EST. This match will be streamed exclusively on Table Tennis TV; sign up today for two free weeks.
