New York Slice star Haeeun Choi (SPINDEX: 2562) will not compete in her team’s Week 10 matches due to a scheduling conflict, Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) sources tell Table Tennis TV.

Jessica Reyes Lai (2362) will make her MLTT debut in Choi’s place.

Choi holds a singles percentage of 40.7% (11-16) in nine team matches, and currently ranks as the league’s No. 64 player. She was New York’s third-round pick in the Season 3 Draft, behind Koki Niwa (2753) and Yiran Wu (2692).

Choi is the first and only rookie to have earned multiple Player of the Week awards so far this season. She won MLTT’s Female Player of the Week for her performances in Weeks 4 and 5, the first two weeks of her MLTT career.

The Slice signed Reyes Lai after placing Amir Hodaei on the Commissioner’s Reserve List. This is the first time that Reyes Lai, a member of the 2025 U.S. Women’s National Team, has ever appeared on an MLTT roster.

The Slice sit as the third-ranked team in the East Division with a 7-5 record and 121 points. They were the division’s top-seeded team for several weeks, until they left Terosaki Budokan with less than two wins for the first time in team history after Week 8.

Reyes Lai and the Slice will face the Texas Smash (4-5, 98 points) on Friday at 5 p.m. EST, the Chicago Wind (8-4, 145 points) on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. EST and the Florida Crocs (3-6, 79 points) on Sunday at 12 p.m. EST.

All three matches will be streamed exclusively on Table Tennis TV, which can be accessed on tabletennis.tv, iOS, Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV.
