World Table Tennis (WTT) and DONIC have agreed to a multiyear partnership for events located in Germany, WTT announced on Tuesday.
Many of WTT’s events in Germany will feature products from the German table tennis equipment manufacturer. The deal runs through 2028, and it will begin with WTT Champions Frankfurt 2025.
“This is an opportunity to showcase German engineering to a global audience, and to support the athletes who inspire the next generation of players,” DONIC President Frank Schreiner told WTT.
The Süwag Energie ARENA will host WTT Champions Frankfurt 2025 from November 4 - 9. DONIC is the event’s official table partner, and matches will be played on a DONIC D25 table.
WTT Champions Frankfurt 2025 will be the last Champions event before WTT Finals Hong Kong 2025. The event will feature a myriad of table tennis superstars, including Brazil’s Hugo Calderano (Men’s Singles No. 3), Japan’s Tomokazu Harimoto (No. 4), France’s Felix Lebrun (Men’s No. 5), Sweden’s Truls Moregard (No. 6), and Japan’s Miwa Harimoto (Women’s Singles No. 7).
Many German table tennis stars will also take DONIC’s tables at WTT Champions Frankfurt 2025, including Benedikt Duda (Men’s Singles No. 8), Dang Qiu (No. 14), Patrick Franziska (No. 15), Dima Ovtcharov (No. 29), Ying Han (Women’s Singles No. 27), and Sabine Winter (No. 28).
Several German residents and Table Tennis Bundesliga players from other countries, including the United States’ Kanak Jha (Men’s Singles No. 24), will also participate in this event.
“Germany is such a special home for table tennis, and we are honoured that DONIC will play such an important role in bringing the event to life,” Schreiner said.
The event will be one of the last opportunities for players to qualify for the WTT Finals Hong Kong 2025. If anyone earns one of the few spots in this coveted event with their performances at WTT Champions Frankfurt 2025, they will do so on a DONIC table.
