The odds for the first-ever weighted Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) Draft Lottery have been determined.
The six teams that did not qualify for Season 3’s Championship Weekend will participate in the lottery. A random drawing between those teams on April 7 will determine the first six picks in the Season 4 MLTT Draft, including the coveted No. 1 overall pick.
Each of the six lottery-eligible teams will have different odds to earn the No. 1 pick for the first time in league history. This year’s lottery odds are weighted by reverse record order, meaning that the teams with the lowest winning percentages have the highest chances of winning that top pick.
These numbers represent the percentage of total draws each team owns in the Season 4 Lottery. The first team drawn will receive the No. 1 overall selection in the Season 4 MLTT Draft, and teams will continue to be drawn until the top three picks have been selected.
The 4th, 5th and 6th selections in the Season 4 Draft will go to the three unselected teams in reverse record order. The four teams that will participate in Championship Weekend will receive the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th selections based on the reverse order of where they placed in the postseason tournament.
Whichever team wins the No. 1 pick will earn the ability to add any player of their choosing from a large pool of table tennis players who have declared for the Season 4 MLTT Draft. That list includes several players with international pedigree, such as Quadri Aruna and Takuya Jin.
MLTT will hold its Season 4 Draft on April 30. The league will announce each selection on social media.
