Yuya Oshima will not compete in the Blazers' Week 9 matches (Will MacNeil/Major League Table Tennis).

Atlanta Blazers star Yuya Oshima (SPINDEX: 2775) will miss his team’s Week 9 matches due to a scheduling conflict, Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) sources tell Table Tennis TV.

Oshima is currently competing with Ryukyu Asteeda, his T. League club. Ryukyu faces Kinoshita Meister Tokyo on Sunday, which conflicts with the Blazers’ Week 9 match against the Texas Smash.

The Blazers selected Oshima with the first overall pick in the 2025 MLTT Draft, making him their first selection in club history. Oshima has been one of the league’s top rookies this season, currently ranking as MLTT’s No. 17 overall player with a singles percentage of 59.3% (16-11).

Oshima has been a critical piece for the expansion Blazers, who sit at the bottom of the East Division with a 2-7 record and 75 points. They will head to the Oregon Convention Center with an active roster of Jeet Chandra (2681), Tom Feng (2657), Rachel Sung (2521), Jiwei Xia (2607), Kayama Yu (2765) and Braxton Chang (2596).

The Blazers will face the Los Angeles Spinners (4-8, 114 points) on Friday at 7 p.m. EST, the Portland Paddlers (7-2, 125 points) on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. EST, and the Texas Smash (4-2, 74 points) on Sunday at 7 p.m. EST. All three of these matches will be streamed exclusively on Table Tennis TV, which can be viewed on TableTennis.TV, iOS, Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV.
