Darko Jorgic provided details about his plans for next season in an exclusive interview on Tuesday.
Jorgic told Flint Lane on the latest episode of “Around the Net” that he will join the Polska Superliga and team up with Deni Kožul. Kožul currently plays for KS Bank Spółdzielczy Orlicz 1924 Suchedniów, and his contract with the club ends in June 2027.
The 27-year-old also said he will play in a limited number of matches with his new Superliga club and will prioritize his international career next season.
Jorgic currently plays for 1. FC Saarbrücken - TT of Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL), but he announced in February that he will not return for the 2026-27 season. He cited overwhelming travel and a desire to focus on his international career as his reasons behind his decision.
“I’ve been in the Bundesliga for eight years now, seven years in Saarbrücken,” Jorgic told Lane. “It’s a great league, but for me, it’s just a lot of matches, and I cannot focus on my international career.”
As a member of Saarbrücken, Jorgic won three Champions League titles, two Liebherr Cups and a German Championship. He is currently the Bundesliga’s No. 2 player, and he holds a 12:0 individual record with wins over TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen’s Shunsuke Togami (Bundesliga No. 3), SV Werder Bremen’s Mattias Falck (No. 9) ASC Grünwettersbach’s Hiroto Shinozuka (18).
Jorgic is a two-time Olympian, a three-time Europe Top 16 Cup Champion and the No. 16 Men’s Singles player in the world. He was a quarterfinalist in both WTT United States Smash 2025 and WTT Europe Smash 2025.
Jorgic will play his next match with Saarbrücken on Sunday against Grünwettersbach (4-13. 8:26).
