ASC Grünwettersbach announced that the club has acquired second-division superstar Tom Jarvis via transfer.

Jarvis signed a contract that will keep him with ASC for the remainder of this year, which will reportedly extend into the 2026-27 season. He will make his ASC debut on Jan. 11 against Post SV Mühlhausen.

“I’ve seen many ASC games, and the atmosphere and support from the fans are great,” Jarvis said, per the club and Table Tennis Bundesliga (TTBL). “I can’t wait to play there and hopefully get some wins in front of all the fans!”

Jarvis was the No. 1 player in Germany’s second division during his time with 1. FC Köln. He also ranks as the No. 61 Men's Singles player in the world, which is the highest of any player from England.

The 25-year-old has already defeated multiple TTBL stars on the world circuit, including TSV Bad Königshofen’s Andre Bertelsmeier and Borussia Düsseldorf’s Dang Qiu.

“Even though the step up from the second division to the TBL isn’t always easy, I’m confident that [Tom will] quickly settle into the top flight,” said ASC coach Kilian Ort.

ASC looks to make a second-half playoff push from the seventh seed. They’ve had to fight without star Ricardo Walther (disc surgery), and hope that Jarvis’ addition will give them the boost they need.

ASC will play its next match against TTC Zugbrücke Grenzau on Dec. 16. That will be the club’s penultimate match without their new star.

“Playing in the TTBL has been one of my goals for many years,” Jarvis said. “That’s why I’m very happy to finally get the chance to take on this new challenge.”
