Tim Wang entered Major League Table Tennis (MLTT) with Chicago. The Wind selected the U.S. Olympian in the first-ever MLTT Draft. He's worn a sky blue jersey longer than anyone on the WInd's roster, except for Alex Cazacu.
Wang and the Wind will play on Saturday at 4:00 p.m EST. But this time, they're playing against each other.
After his stint with the Chicago Wind, Wang joined the Bay Area Blasters and became their head coach. He's faced his former team before, most recently in the Season 2 postseason. And for both of these squads, a win on Saturday would do them wonders.
Both teams are looking to stake their claim in a hyper-competitive West Division. The Wind, who currently sit as the West's third seed, hope to use this weekend to join Portland and Texas as the division's top clubs. The Blasters have returned to the table for the first time in five match weeks, and they're looking to make up for the lost time and escape the basement of the West.
After this match, you'll be able to witness history at 7:30 p.m. EST. The Atlanta Blazers have a burning desire to earn their first win in franchise history, and they'll have to find it against the red-hot Princeton Revolution, who kicked off their weekend with a 17-4 win against the Bay Area Blasters. But this isn't just an inter-division match. These two teams will face off in the 200th match in MLTT history.
