A team as talented as Borussia Düsseldorf cannot afford another German Table Tennis Cup disappointment.
They've already improved off of their 2024-25 result. Simply making it to the quarterfinals is a step up from the Round of 16 exit they suffered last season. But that won't satisfy the reigning record champions. Düsseldorf, like every team still remaining, wants nothing more than a championship trophy in their hands. And with stars such as Dang Qiu, Kanak Jha and Anton Kallberg, they've got the talent to do so.
There will be a few roadblocks on that path, including TTC OE Clarity Tel. Bad Homburg. They're just one season removed from a semifinal match against the eventual champions, TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen. That spot could have been Düsseldorf's last year, and it still can be this year. They just have to defeat Bad Homburg today.
