Hugo Calderano won the Men's Singles gold medal at the ITTF Pan American Championships 2025 (World Table Tennis).

Four of the seven competitions at the ITTF Pan American Championships 2025 have been decided in Rock Hill, S.C., on Wednesday.

Brazil’s Hugo Calderano (Men’s Singles No. 3) continues his outstanding year by defeating the United States’ Kanak Jha (Men’s Singles No. 24) to win the gold medal in Men’s Singles. This marks Calderano’s fifth consecutive Men’s Singles triumph at this event, and it came with a 4-1 victory over Jha, the only non-Brazilian man to have ever won this title.

Puerto Rico’s Adriana Díaz (Women’s Singles No. 20) secured her fourth Women’s Singles crown, this time against Brazil’s Bruna Takahashi (Women’s Singles No. 19). Díaz entered her finals match as the second-seeded underdog behind Takahashi. Still, she made quick work of her opponent in four games, just as she did against the United States’ Lily Zhang (Women’s Singles No. 34) in the semifinals.

Leonardo Iizuka and Guilherme Teodoro (Men’s Doubles No. 61) from Brazil dominated Chile’s Nicolás Burgos and Gustavo Gómez (Men’s Doubles No. 36) in the Men’s Doubles finals. Iizuka and Teodoro went against a tandem that won this title in 2023, but they refused to let Burgos and Gomez take a single game from them.

Guatemala’s Hidalynn Zapata and Lucía Cordero (Women’s Doubles No. 78) won the Women’s Doubles title after edging past Mexico’s Clio Bárcenas and Arantxa Cossio (Women’s Doubles No. 56) in a 3-2 battle. This is the first time Cordero and Zapata have won a Pan American gold medal in Women’s Doubles, an accomplishment that comes after making their first-ever Women’s Doubles final as a duo.

Mixed Doubles ended on Tuesday when Calderano and Bruna Takahashi (Mixed Doubles No. 7) took down Puerto Rico’s Steven Moreno and Brianna Burgos (NR) in three games.

The team competitions at the ITTF 2025 Pan American Championships will continue until Sunday.
