After five days of competition between the world’s biggest table tennis stars, champions have been crowned at WTT Finals Hong Kong 2025.

Japan’s Tomokazu Harimoto (Men’s Singles No. 5) took the Men’s Singles title after defeating Sweden’s Truls Moergard (Men’s Singles No. 4 ) in six games. Harimoto had been a losing finalist in three consecutive years prior to this match, but the 22-year-old finally took home his first WTT singles crown after his fourth trip to the Finals.

Moregard and Harimoto traded wins with another throughout their first five games (11-8, 5-11, 11-9, 10-12, 14-12), with only one game having a margin of victory of three points or less. Harimoto took immediate control of the sixth game and dominated Moregard en route to an 11-2 victory to win the Men’s Singles tournament.

China’s Wang Manyu (Women’s Singles No. 2) won the Women’s Singles title after beating compatriot Kuai Man (Women’s No. 4) in six games. This is Wang’s second consecutive WTT Finals victory in Women’s Singles, following her seven-game showdown against Chen Xingtong (Women’s No. 3) in 2024.

Wang and Man swapped wins in the first two games (11-7, 11-8) before Wang took over the match. She won two consecutive games (11-8, 11-8) and jumped to a 3-1 lead.

Man crawled back with an 11-9 win in the fifth game, but Wang ended the match after a 12-10 victory in the sixth game.

Both singles tournaments had been impacted by the shocking withdrawals of Wang Chuqin (Men’s No. 1) and Sun Yingsha (Women’s No. 1) due to injuries. Sun suffered a left ankle injury during her semifinal match against Man, and Wang’s back injury caused Moregard, his would-be opponent, to advance to a rare final showdown without a Chinese participant.

Sun and Wang (Mixed Doubles No. 3) advanced to the Mixed Doubles Final before losing to Korean duo Lim Jonghoon and Shin Yubin (Mixed Doubles No. 2) in three games (11-9, 11-8, 11-6) on Saturday.

World Table Tennis will return for WTT Champions Doha 2026 in Doha, Qatar, from Jan. 7-11.
